Calendar 22nd-24th of October and some other things going on.

First about my calendar. As I have been visiting lovely Östhammar and "Ordfestivalen", my time for the calendar wasn´t to much. Returning to it trying to catch up I felt a little bit bored for the first time. Why? Thinking about this I realized that it has to do with routine. To keep up the calendar I think I need the routine; each morning spend some time doing my "day". As I couldn´t do this for a couple of days I lost the motivation a little. But I am back. Yesterday I made the three last days and decided to make it very simple, just doing Dingbatz:

As I had done my three Dingbatz (doesn´t take long to do) I felt like Meer needed to go on a little bit more. I felt like this was ok and yes I could find a satisfaction to make this again. So todays calendarpage I was back into my morning-preparation for the day!

This blog is not supposed to be about journaling. But I have always liked the thing with journaling. Now I have taken my first steps on the journaling-road and it is great fun. So I want to share my first experiences with you!

The upper pic, I glued my inspiration (Papertissue!) on the left page. On the below pic you can see my #inktober - #pinktober stuff. The colored paper glued here is made by a friend of mine who makes a lot of Eco-prints!

To the last goodie for today! I finished a travelling tangle from my friend Sue Zanker yesterday. The surface of this tile is made with the shaving-foame technique and now I learned how it should be! The surface was so smooth and gentle to work on! I think I want to try this technique further on because of her lovely result. But I have to get me some odourless shaving foam instead of the one I got from the grocery last try. That one smelled terribly and I couldn´t stand it!  Here is our collaboration:

This is Sue´s lovely start!

And here is my final result. I really enjoyed this! Sue had started with a tangle called Wibble and I went on with C-rependity (Veena Arun), Ginili (Randi Wynne-Perry) and some Fescues. As I tangled on I wanted to get the Wibble more in focus so I added Gold and some watercolor. I loved to do this! Thank´s Sue for the experience!

1st, 2nd and 3rd of September

I started this month with Carole Ohls suggested fragment T4. I did it without checking Primer 1 and tried Carole´s version. It didn´t go my way so I checked the Primer and then I liked it better. Still this fragment was a challenge.

2nd: I wanted to play with Quabog (Zt), I had seen Sandy Kelley Jones do it and I thought it could work with the Diva´s challenge but I had to try it first. I liked it this way, like a sun spreading the warmth to us.
3rd: Printems and BtlJoos together and something I don´t know what it could be but inspired by the sunfeeling the day before.

MD-tangles II and making a monogramtangle

This morning meditation went into a MD duotangle! Since I saw a tile by Lynn Shelton Mead where she made a tangle of her signature/monogram, I wanted to try this. It was a little scary though. I have made my signature for many years so many times on my paintings and the last years also on my tiles. To use this as a tangle! What an idea! It is like placing myself in a center-posistion, God forgive me, and admit that I liked to be there! Here it is:

It is also like revealing something about myself that I am not used to do. But it is also a way not to take myself to seriousely, but have fun! I used the Monogram-tangle with Daniel Lamothe´s Dreamcatcher. I loved to do this!

7th, 8th and 9th of July has all come with a flow in my calendar and I am so happy about that. I cntinued with MD duotangles and that gives me a lot of pleasure!

I am still in the candystore. Patterns: Meer (Zt) + Daviso (Katie Crommett), Maryhill (Betsy Wilson) + Dorsal (mine) and Marnie (Chrissie Frampton) + Drawings (Zt). These patterns are patterns I like a lot, since they are all easy to learn (mine included), and relaxing to do. And they do come with surprises when shading!

W2 one more time

Since I was unsure if I had made W2 or Huggins in my last post I made one more for IAST 164. This time I checked the steps before starting so now I know that I have done W2 and nothing else!

I made it on one of those shavingfoam-tiles I have left. I can´t say it is a monotangle this time. But W2 is in focus. Garlic Cloves wanted to say goodbye for now so it took some space! then I used Hibred as a frame and embellished W2 with Dorsal (mine), Waves (Suzanne McNeill) and Beadlines (Margaret Bremner)

Tripoli

The Diva´s challenge #284 is all about Tripoli. Tripoli as a monotangle. When I first learned Tripoli I liked it a lot and I used it quite often during that period. This is a highfocus-tangle. I love to do it sometimes. I can also be very frustrated doing it. There are a lots of possibilities doing some oops(!) here and there! Doing that in a monotangle can be distressing! I made two tiles. The first one I used string 161 (Joan Lilley).

I tried to keep it simple. But I am not sure I did. The second tile I used one of those shavingfoam-tiles and the result was totally different!

To use the color as a string did fit Tripoli very well! I loved to do this and I think it can be seen!

Rain

Today was the perfect day to do IAST 161. It is about weather and especially RAIN. I have a lot of tiles left after the shavingfoam experiment. They all smell! The perfumed foam odour didn´t go away completely, but it doesn´t dominate my studio anymore. If I can´t find odourless shavingfoam I guess the experiment ends with the tiles I have left. I might have a little allegic reaction to it also, since I have been sneezing while working on these tiles! But it still is fun and I hope I can go on with it in an odourless way!

Now it is about rain. Rain is a zentangle I learned from the start. It has a very strong appearance and that might be the reason I haven´t used it regularly. I like to do this tangle!

The other tangles in the challenge are Hibred and Raindotty (Jane Monk). I also added Pais (Rick Huber). It is fun to tangle on a marbled background, but I am unsure of the result. Maybe it is the shading. Watercolorpaper is fine with watercolor, but I have to try it some more I guess. Or get me some other paper that suits Shavingfoam better.
