Inktober is over! November is here!

I thought I would be able to post more frequently in October but that was not the case. But here is my finished Inktobertangles 2019! It was a journey with this Opus tile. I didn´t work the way I use to with a traditional string. The start was the embedded words Inktober 2019 which was a kind of a string though.

All the tangles are there! I started off earlier than october, since i was in Spain for two weeks and it was nice to come home and find my almost finished work waiting for me. I liked what the fountainpen made for this Opus. I will have to frame it though since the ink i watersoluble and I need to protect the result which I am happy with! Looking back on this I find that there are a lot of tangles that I discovered in a new way and some tangles were new to me. Inaflux (Debbie New) for example, and that one I really liked a lot! Stephanie Jennifer and Debbie New has done a great job administrating this Inktobertangles 2019-event and they do a lot more than this which you can find on their 7F5R-blog! I am already looking forward to next Inktober to come! Thank you ladies for doing this!

Inktobertangles 2019

We are soon entering October and Inktober Tangles Challenge 2019. I have done this earlier on Bijou-tiles and in my Calendar. Stephanie Jennifer CZT has published a list of tangles to do each day of October. Here is the list:

This year I want to try the Inktober Tangles on an Opus Tile. I have only made two Opus tiles before this and now I am stepping out of my comfort zone! As I decided to do this I wasn´t sure of how to. Should I divide the surface into 31 pieces? Should I make a string? After I had thought about it I decided not to divide the tile into 31 spaces to fill. It is risky, maybe there wont be room enough for 31 tangles??? Especially as I wanted to start like this:

I was really pleased with this beginning: Inktober 2019 as embedded letters. I will use my favourite fountain pens, one filled with sepia colored ink and one with black ink. As I am going to be travelling for two weeks in October I needed to start with the Inktobertangles earlier. I will not make blogposts every day with my inktober tangles, but hopefully my blog will be updated more often than I have done the last months! Here are the first three tangles of Inktober:

Printemps, Tunnelvision (Jody Genovese) and Toodles. I am excited to do this! I love that I don´t know where this will end if everything will take place on this Opus or....This is also something that feeds  my creativity, the uncertainty of art in progress. I have thought about that if I don´t have room enough I could continue on the back of this Opus.... Working with fountain pens is nice. The ink is flowing easy, no need of pressure to make it work! Why don´t I do this more frequently???

My Opus 1.

I started my first Opus ever August 20th inspired by the Mosaic-challenge Joey initiated. Today I have finished it. I haven´t worked on it every day, but I have seen it every day except when I was away to Östhammar last week. Don´t know if it was a good idea, but I left the shading and the coloring to the end and that took me a lot of time. I wasn´t sure where this would go at all. But here is my finished result.

I have listed the patterns and the date I first used them on the back of the tile. As I count them there are 17 patterns!!! Is this really me??? I blackened a part I found disturbing in the end. That was satisfying, but I am happy I left the decision till the last day I laid my hand on this!
I took a pic before or almost before shading. Unfortunately it is unsharp. I was so eager to go on with the shading I didn´t take more than one shot.

As you can see I started with African Artist (Tina Aqua Hunziker), which was the start of Joey´s Mosaic-challenge. I have turned my Opus-tile several times during the process but as I started the shading it just wanted to be the way I took the final pic of it!

It was an experience to do this. I thought I never would. I might do it again, but not too soon. As I have finished it today I don´t even know what I think about the result. But I know I have enjoyed the process very much and that is what counts to me here and now. 

Joey´s weekly part 2 and some surprises

The first surprise today. I got a pre-birthday-gift! Something that I really wanted but found too expensive! The zentangle-app! I haven´t discovered everything yet, but I have seen some interesting videos that are soo inspiring! I am so grateful! Today is a beautiful day. Joey has published part two of the 9-tilechallenge and this was a surprise too! She wanted us to add Merryweather (Sandy Hunter), which happens to be another of my favourites! Here is the result:

I went on with  African Artist (Tina Hunziker), Cadent (Zt), Merryweather, Tripoli (Zt) and Diva Dance(ZT). Left an empty space, which I am not sure will be an emty space in the end! But I felt like leaving it like this

It is so fun to put the tiles together! I had to take a second alloverpic.

I found out quickly that the size of all tiles together is the same size as one Opus-tile. I have cut one myself sometime ago, but not dared to go for it yet. But Joey´s challenge gave me the courage and an idea how to manage this and still use the zentanglemethod, no planning, just be in it and see what happens next. It is so fun! I love it. Don´t know where it leads that will be another surprise but here is what happened so far:

I leave the shading till I have done the whole piece, since I also leave the decision about color or not. One stroke at a time. No rush. Exactly the same method I use working on ordinary tiles. I find this so relaxing and satisfying.
