Color or not color

I love color. I wouldn´t be a painter if I didn´t. I get excited when I work with color, almost obsessed! But when I tangle it is something else. I appreciate color. It is not that. But to tangle, only using black and white and the greyscale in between, that is something else. Only simple tools, a black micron, a pencil 2B, a white tile - that keeps my focus in another way. The moment is what exsists and I don´t let the past o future disturb my balance. That´s what I need meditation for. To be in the moment and not worry.

So this evening I returned to basic. Not very often I do two challenges in one. But this time it came natural. Joey´s weekly: finish my tangle and I am the Diva´s challenge #283. Patterns: BeeLine, Sprigs (Michele Beauchamp), Centre Squares (aleesha Sattva). A lot of Squares needed Sprigs!

I'm trying again 😉
This is lovely. There's something satisfying about just doing the basic original style zentangle tangle. I'm putting colour mostly aside for the moment as it is frustrating me. As Ria said, what you have written is so true.

Your tile is stunning in its simplicity. A great example and explanation of how Zentangle works.

Your tile is beautiful. I enjoy the contrast between the graphic of Beeline and Centre Square and the organic of Sprigs. I also have drawn one tile for both challenges. I agree with your words about the moment and the balance while tangling. It's really true.

You've picked the right challenges to combine: the result is beautiful! Ans I agree with your thoughts on using colour of not, I think the same way :-)

Beautiful tile! I love the way you did the two challenges together, and especially love the incorporation of beeline, a pattern I have a lot of trouble with. Beautiful!!

The two mesh beautifully, the organic contrasting this structured tangle works perfectly.

Your tile is beautiful and indeed 'basic'. It's so good to do basic from time to time.
