About Prompts + 1st-3rd of December

Right now in early December, the busiest month of the year, I find prompts for tangling very useful. In today´s tangles Sandy Kelley Jones have made some prompts for 1-12 of December and even if I maybe don´t do everyone, I want to do as many as I can. I am one day behind already but the prompt for 2nd of December seemed so fun to do I didn´t want to miss it! Here comes the first one:

1: Use the first tangle I ever did. Don´t know exactly if this was the first one. But anyhow, one of the very early recognizable tangles I did was Hollibaugh!
2: Use the latest tangle: That was easy! Veez by Margaret Bremner!
3: Use a tangle I want to make friends with. There are some but I choose Swarm, which is a tangle that confuses me a lot.
4: Use a bold tangle: What could be more bold than Schway!!!

Here comes the one for yesterday:

I won´t explain this, but the prompt is soooo fun! The patterns I used: Veez (Margaret Bremner), Hypnotic (Elena Hadzijaneva), Papermint (Sandy Hunter), Dewd and `NZeppel. First I thought I should leave the open space in the middle, but then I had to Papermint it! So much fun! Thank´s Sandy!

And the calendarpage:

1st of December: I used the Z-fragment Carole Ohl suggested which I liked a lot. But now we are closer to X-mas, so Ipso (Jennifer Hohensteiner) also wanted to come! 2nd and 3rd: Swarm. The tangle I want to make friends with. We are not there yet but much closer!

28th-30th of September and Joey´s 7-8/9 challenge

I have been away to Malmö for the weekend and haven´t had much time for tangling. But On the train I made my calendarpage!

I felt like going for Rain (zt), but the lines are wobbling, the train is not a steady place1 I had some fun with it though!

As for Joey´s challenge, I didn´t do them until today, since I wanted to have some peace and quiet doing this. I took my time and made both tiles today:

No. 7/9: The pattern to be added was ´NZeppel! One favourite of mine again!

No. 8/9: And this time Printemps!

Here is the whole thing so far:

Yes, I added some more pink in African Artist (Tina Aqua Hunziker) and one more Muscari (Elaine Benfatto).

10th -12th of April

Three more days done in the calendar! Here they come:

I hought I would go into a more organized way, maybe work on some idea about reticula and fragments or something. But the calendar wants something else, no planning here!

Monday 10th I remembered a fun pattern, Pop cloud by Carla du Prez and I had a true relaxing moment doing this followed by Frunky (Katharina Königsbauer-Kolb) and Tipple (zt).

Tuesday 11th I went to another pattern I know I wanted to explore when it first came up, but actually never did. Wall Break (Tina Kirchhübel, is the one and I still like it very much. Some Bronxcherries, Knightsbridge and Tipple followed with Abeko (Lynn Shelton Mead.

Wednesday 12th I went on with Wall Break, Frunky, Hollibaugh and Tipple.

BeeLine

The new focustangle in Square One is BeeLine. One of those official zentangles I learned from Beckah Krahula´s book "One Zentangle a day". I haven´t used it since. It is a beautiful tangle and I have seen it done so well. At that time I didn´t appreciate my outcome. That´s the reason why I haven´t returned to it.

Now I took the chance. As I felt brave today and assertive (that I learned from Caesar Milan I have to be with our dog) I went on with string 153 and let BeeLine take it´s place. I am glad I did. Not that it is perfect but i enjoyed doing it so much that I belive I´ll get back to this pattern again! Bambooz (Julie Evans) is following the string. I wasn´t thinking of framing this, but the thing is there were some splashes from my spilling on tiles earlier left on my desk and some of that came on my new fresh tile. Wud (Joni Feddersen) saved the whole situation for me.

About the spilling and Diva´s challenge. I made one more inspired by Anya Ipsen. She used Aroniaberries and I have a lot of them outside my house so I tried that too.

I had some trouble with this. The color from the Aronia is just beautiful but my pens didn´t like to work on that. Maybe I should have tried to soak up some of the juice before drying... I´ll try to work on that since I loved the color I got from it! The patterns are: Tizzy (Hanny Waldburger), Ruutz and Trelina (both by Eni Oken). Now when I look at this I think of Ghostbusters:)!

Floatfest and Circles

Carole Ohl is the designer behind several beautiful patterns. Footlite, Unyun and Puf are such patterns I just love to work with. I have avoided Floatfest for one reason or another. But this week IAST is about Floatfest so I gave it a run.

I made it on a renaissance tile and for being my first try with the pattern I think I like it. Aah was the second focuspattern in the challenge. I also used Marisu and Tipple.

After doing this I found out I hadn´t done Joey´s weekly this week! So I went to her blog and the string was like a cat´s eye!

The tangle we should use is Gnarly by Barbara Finwall and then tangles of free choice. As Barbara Finwall has created som wonderful patterns too I had to use one more of hers: Zonked!  Both worked so well together and I liked doing this. It is something with that circular thinking. Doing it on freehand. Not perfect but the focus comes immediately!

Beads of courage

I am the Diva`s challenge this week is all about Beads of Courage. You can read all about it in her blog. I am not so much of a "beadperson", i thougt, but I started. And made it in color as well.  As I went on I found I had pretty much fun all the way!

Thank´s to you Laura I might go for it again. I tried the Hefty Hack-technique as you can see! And I belive that Beads for courage is a wonderful project!

Roman Numbers I-XV

The challenge from Joey with Roman numbers I-XV was so interesting to do. Now I have gathered all my numbers into one pic. It was worth doing because I am surprised myself  about the outcome! I like it.

There are two more tiles, but I choose these to be the final result. So much fun in this challenge! I´ll try to frame them together because I would like to show them together! Don´t know yet how....

Striping with the Diva

Black tiles are special! So different to work on and so exciting, because you never know where it will lead you! No planning but following the Diva´s challenge this week: Striping. I like stripes very much. I often use it in my paintings too. A lots of them or just a few stripes. The outcome is never the same. There is one thing that makes this challenge so inspirating: It is so free and open. I enjoy that. Sometimes you need a lots of limits to get into the zen-zone. Very often that is not the case for me though. I am most satisfied when I just may be in the flow and it takes me somewhere I didn´t expect. So there might come more striping this week from me!

There are just 2 patterns here: Onamato (which I learned very early in my tangeling journey) and my own pattern Dorsal. I felt they made a great match so I am glad the way this went!
